NICOLE LACROIX, popular WETA radio personality, will host this exciting 50th Anniversary Gala Celebration Concert featuring music of American composers. The program will include the Third Symphony, in C Minor, by FLORENCE PRICE, the luscious Second Piano Concerto, in D Minor, by EDWARD MACDOWELL, featuring the extraordinary virtuoso soloist, CARLOS IBAY, and the premiere of Creatures of Darkness and Light (A Draculean Tone Poem), by the living, breathing Virginia-based composer, NIKITA WELLS. Maestro Fleary and the orchestra will also present the first performance of an original composition by the winner of the Alma Grayce Miller Competition, through the auspices of the Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association (NVMTA), as orchestrated by TMS member, Davyd Breeskin.
